Two more former Clemson standouts have signed their rookie contracts.
The Washington Commanders announced they have signed former Tiger wide receiver Antonio Williams, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the signing of former Tiger defensive lineman DeMonte Capehart.
Williams was selected by the Commanders on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft in the third round with the No. 71 overall pick. The Buccaneers took Capehart on Day 3 of this year’s draft in the fifth round with the No. 155 overall pick.
Williams was a two-time All-ACC selection who recorded 2,336 yards and 21 touchdowns on 208 career receptions over 43 games (38 starts) from 2022-25. He exited Clemson ranked fourth in school history in career receptions and tied with Mike Williams for the fourth-most career touchdown receptions in school annals.
In 2025, Williams caught 55 passes for 604 yards and four touchdowns over 10 games (all starts). The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder also rushed 13 times for 78 yards and a touchdown, completed a 75-yard touchdown pass and gained 44 yards on four punt returns en route to third-team All-ACC honors.
“Antonio is a day one performer when he walks in their building,” Swinney said. “Antonio has really lived like a pro, prepared like a pro, played like a pro for his last couple years. He is a highly skilled receiver. If he was 6-2, he’d be a first-round pick.”
Capehart was a staple on the Tigers’ defensive front the past two seasons, starting 12 games and appearing in 23.
Capehart was credited with 88 career tackles (13.5 for loss), including three sacks, five pass breakups and a forced fumble in 57 career games (12 starts) from 2020-25. He contributed on three ACC championship squads during his time at Clemson.
This past season, the 6-foot-4, 313-pounder tallied 29 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack and two pass breakups over 12 games (six starts).
