After making his debut visit back in the spring, a Tar Heel state defensive back has now set a return date.
2028 cornerback Dominic Williams (Jacksonville, NC) will be back in Clemson on June 2 to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp.
His initial trip to campus was eye-opening, seeing as he saw something he’s yet to see at any other school.
“The brotherhood and how they run the program,” Williams told The Clemson Insider. “PAW Journey also really stood out. It was very interesting. That was the only time I saw something like that. The facilities were great and the coaches were great.”
Defensive assistant Mike Houston has served as Williams’ point of contact, and the relationship between the two has really started to blossom.
“That is my dawg,” he said. “I am always letting him know what I am doing.”
Having an opportunity to play and develop under cornerbacks coach Mike Reed is something Williams says he’s have to seriously consider.
“He would definitely help me on my journey and get to where I want to go,” Williams added.
Ole Miss, NC State, North Carolina, Wake Forest and East Carolina are some of Williams’ early offers. On top of his spring visit to Clemson, he also made a stop in Chapel Hill, among others.
The Tigers won’t start offering players in the 2028 recruiting class until June, which coincides with the high school camp Williams is set to attend. He wants to get out in front of the coaches, prove his worth and earn one of those hard-to-get offers from Clemson.
“It would mean a lot,” Williams said. “I have liked Clemson for a while. I like everything about it. Iliek the colors, I like PAW Journey, and I really like the CB coach Mike Reed. My family really loves it too. That is where they want me to go.”
