Another Clemson target has come off the board.
Three-star cornerback Brandon Leavell (Goodpasture Christian, TN) announced a commitment to Tennessee late Monday, choosing the Volunteers over Clemson, Florida State, Florida and NC State.
Each of the five finalists had been scheduled to get official visits, but Leavell felt now was the time to shut things down.
“I know exactly where I want to be,” he told The Clemson Insider. “God is leading me in the right direction so I feel ready.”
The 6-foot-1 corner just picked up his offer from the Tigers after an unofficial visit earlier this month. That visit came together after cornerbacks coach Mike Reed made a stop at his school early on during the contact period. Reed was back at his high school last week.
The Tigers already hold a commitment from one corner in the 2027 class, with three-star legacy recruit Christian Chancellor announcing a verbal pledge last summer. Four-star Jayden Aparicio-Bailey and three-star Bryant Robinson are cornerbacks scheduled to be at the big official visit weekend, May 29-31.
Clemson adid land four-star safety Jarrell Chandler earlier in the day on Monday, who is a Top 100 prospect per Rivals.
