Clemson Hurler Set to Enter Transfer Portal

Clemson is losing a member of its pitching staff.

Left-handed hurler Noah Samol plans to enter the transfer portal, according to a report. He is the first player to announce plans to enter the portal, which opens on Monday.

The 6-foot-7 southpaw began his career at Georgia Tech, before transferring to Clemson ahead of the 2025 campaign. However, his career has been hampered by injuries. After missing his first year with the Yellow Jackets with an injury and redshirting, he was limited to just seven appearances during his debut season with the Tigers. He struggled with his command and had more walks than innings pitched. His ERA was 9.82.

This season, Samol once again made just seven appearances, and once again dealt with an injury to end the season. He finished 1-0 with an ERA of 4.76 in 11.1 innings pitched, with 14 strikeouts to just three walks. Opponents hit .255 against him.

Samol will have two more seasons of eligibility.
