TCI Recruiting Roundup: New Developments for CB Targets, OL Board Expands

We have some new updates to pass along from the recruiting trail.

Three-star in-state CB Aidyn Wiggins (Byrnes) has tweaked his official visit schedule. The 6-foot-1 defensive back was scheduled to kick off his officials with a trip to Rutgers May 29-31, but that visit has now been scratched, with Auburn now in its place. The reason why that is significant is because that is the weekend Clemson will hold its big gathering.

Syracuse, Cincinnati and Virginia Tech are the other schools that have been set to get official visits. The visit to Cincinnati is set for June 12-14, when the Tigers will hold their second, small official visit weekend. We will have to wait and see as to whether Wiggins makes another change to his slate.

Three-star CB Nash Johnson (McEachern, GA) has locked in plans to give Clemson an official, June 12-14. Tennessee was originally scheduled to get an official that weekend.

Johnson visited Clemson in early May, picking up an offer in the process. The 6-foot-1 prospect was at one time committed to Alabama before opening up his recruitment back up in April.

Johnson recently announced Clemson, Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss and Tennessee as his five finalists. Miami and Auburn have both made strong pushes of late, with Johnson referring to both as his top schools at one point or another. Both of those schools, along with Clemson and Ole Miss, are currently the programs set to get officials.

The Tigers and Matt Luke handed out a new OL offer on Wednesday, with it going to four-star Timu Aliu (Locust Grove, GA).The 6-foot-4, 295-pounder now has more than 30 offers in total, with North Carolina, Ole Miss, Missouri being some of the most recent. Georgia, Florida and Nebraska are three schools that have built some momentum Aliu.

Aliu’s official visit schedule as it stands right now.

  • Syracuse: May 29
  • Florida: June 4
  • North Carolina: June 10
  • Georgia: June 12
  • Nebraska: June 19
