Clemson Target Commits to SEC School

Another Clemson recruiting target has come off the board.

Three-star DL Griff Galloway (Providence Day, NC) announced a commitment to Kentucky on Friday, choosing the Wildcats over Clemson, Florida and Virginia Tech.

Galloway has been a frequent visitor to Clemson, with his father, Lonnie Galloway entering his second season as an assistant on Dabo Swinney’s staff. He picked up his offer from the Tigers in January and was scheduled to be back on campus for the official visit weekend, May 29-31.

As a junior, Galloway tallied 66 tackles with 13 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks and 17 quarterback hurries.

Despite Galloway heading elsewhere, Clemson has picked up a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail in recent days, landing commitments from three four-star talents. Safety Jarrell Chandler, running back Gary Walker and receiver Jamarin Simmons have all announce verbal pledges this week.

The Tigers currently have 10 players committed in the 2027 class that ranks inside the Top 15 currently, with three-star Jaden Wuerth being the only defensive linemen committed at this point.
