Clemson is on some kind of heater on the recruiting trail.
Three-star WR Julian Cromartie (College Park, TX) announced a commitment to the Tigers on Friday, choosing Clemson over other schools that included Kentucky, Kansas and Arkansas. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound wideout becomes the third receiver to commit, joining four-stars Jamarin Simmons and Trey Wimbley.
Cromartie is the seventh player to commit since last Monday, and he is the 13th verbal pledge for Clemson in the 2027 class.
Cromartie revealed plans last week to be on hand for the big official visit gathering this weekend. He is the son of Antonio Cromartie, an NFL All-Pro cornerback.
Antonio played at Florida State from 2003-05 before going on to be selected by the San Diego Chargers in the first round (19th overall pick) of the 2006 NFL Draft.
The four-time Pro Bowler and 2007 first-team All-Pro also played for the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts over his 11-yard NFL career, totaling 417 tackles, 117 passes defended and 31 interceptions (including three returned for touchdowns) across 162 career games.
Julian has over two dozen offers in total, including schools such as Ole Miss, Texas, Texas Tech, Michigan, Georgia and Florida State.
He transferred to College Park in Texas before his junior season after spending his first two years at Mater Dei, San Diego.
Cromarite is the third receiver to join the class that now features 14 verbal pledges and ranks in the Top 15 nationally.
