While the rest of the Clemson commits are currently on campus for official visits, Kharim Hughley is out in Los Angeles continuing to prove himself to be one of the better quarterbacks in the 2027 recruiting class.
The four-star signal caller was named one of the top performers of day one of the event, with Rivals ranking him No. 4 of the 20 quarterbacks competing this weekend.
“Kharim Hughley had one of the strongest arms in the camp, and the ball really jumped out of his hand. It was noticeable, after several throws, you would see onlookers and even other quarterbacks looking at each other with a ‘what was that’ kind of look. He’s a sub-6-foot quarterback but has a stocky 205-pound frame and was comfortable throwing to every level of the field. He can get it out quickly from different arm angles and still generate a lot of velocity. It was my first live exposure seeing him and Clemson fans should be very excited about what Hughley brings to the program.” – Rivals National analyst Greg Biggins
Hughley committed to Clemson last July, about a week after picking up his offer. He will take his official visit to Clemson during the second, smaller gathering, June 12-14.
As a junior, the quarterback helped guide his Gainesville (GA) high school team to an appearance in the 5A state title game. While they fell short of winning it all, Hughley was a big part of the success that led to a 12-win season, throwing for 2,456 yards with 33 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 379 yards with eight more scores via his legs.
Rivals ranks Hughley No. 137 overall and No. 12 among all quarterbacks in the class. ESPN slots him No. 124 overall and No. 5 among dual-threat quarterbacks.
Hughley will take his official visit to Clemson during a second, smaller gathering held June 12-14.
Day two of the competition gets underway late Saturday.
