Clemson Hosts Auburn in ACC/SEC Challenge

CLEMSON — Clemson University men’s basketball will host Auburn in the 2026 ACC/SEC Challenge. The matchup is slated for Tuesday, Dec. 1. Game time and network designation will be announced at a later date by ESPN.

Clemson is 13-15 overall against Auburn, including an 84-53 win over the Tigers in the second round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament to advance to the program’s fourth Sweet 16. Clemson is 5-4 against Auburn all-time at home.

Seventeen of the 28 matchups occurred between 1919 and 1937 when both Clemson and Auburn were mostly competing as foes in the Southern Conference. Both teams would meet seven times between 1957 and 1975 and not play again until the 1993 NIT. Head Coach Brad Brownell has faced Auburn three times at Clemson in 2013, 2014 and 2018 and is 2-1.

Clemson has won its last two meetings against Auburn, the previously mentioned NCAA Tournament second round game in 2018 and a 72-61 win on Dec. 14, 2014.

Clemson returns eight players from last season’s 24-win club who produced the program’s third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. The Tigers added four transfers and three freshmen to its roster for 2026-27.

Clemson is 2-1 in the ACC/SEC Challenge after winning at No. 23 Alabama 85-77 in 2023 and defeating No. 4 Kentucky in Littlejohn Coliseum in 2024.
