Clemson Hands Out New Offers, Including 5-Star Prospect

CLEMSON — Not only has Clemson handed out a few new offers to members of the 2028 class, but one has also gone out to a 2027 recruit.

Three-star RJ Hudson (Varina, VA) announced an offer after working out at camp this week. While Hudson is listed as an edge rusher by the recruiting services, the Tigers are looking at the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder as a linebacker.

Hudson has already taken an official visit to Maryland and still has one set with Syracuse for the weekend of June 12. That visit has now been scratched as Hudson tells The Clemson Insider he will be back in Clemson for an official. He was also on hand for the Spring Elite Day back in April.

The staff has also extended a small number of new 2028 offers.

Five-star wideout Braylon Clark (Providence Day, NC) announced an offer on Saturday after visiting campus. He is the first 2028 wide receiver to pick up an offer from the Tigers.

The 6-foot-3 receiver is ranked No. 14 overall in the Composite Rankings and No. 4 among all players at his position. He already has three dozen offers, with almost every major college program having pulled the trigger.

Clark now goes to the same high school that current freshmen Leo Delaney and Gordon Sellers attended. He played at Charlotte Country Day last season.

Three-star Cavin Bates (Cleburne County, AL) told TCI he landed an offer from head coach Dabo Swinney after working out at camp on Friday. He also worked out on Saturday.

Bates is the nephew of former defensive tackles coach Todd Bates, who is now on staff at Oklahoma. Georgia Tech and NC State are his other Power-4 offers at this point.

2028 DE Quinn Jacobs (Blessed Trinity, GA) also announced one late Friday after working out at camp. Jacobs is the younger brother of current OL Brayden Jacobs. He also worked out on Saturday. Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina and Wake Forest are some of his other early offers.
