Plenty of Tigers Earn Phil Steele Preseason Honors

Longtime college football expert Phil Steele has released his preseason honorees in his 2026 College Football Preview Magazine, and Clemson is well-represented.

Multiple Clemson players are featured on Steele’s preseason All-America and All-ACC teams.

Two Tigers were named to Steele’s preseason All-America teams – junior linebacker Sammy Brown (second-team) and sophomore offensive lineman Brayden Jacobs (fourth-team).

Brown also earned first-team preseason All-ACC honors from Steele, while Jacobs collected second-team preseason all-conference recognition.

Seven other Tigers are also preseason All-ACC honorees by Steele, including three on the offensive side of the ball and four on defense.

Along with Brown, junior cornerback Ashton Hampton and junior wide receiver Bryant Wesco Jr. are preseason first-team all-conference picks.

Junior safety Jerome Carter III (2026 offseason transfer from Old Dominion), senior defensive end Will Heldt and junior wide receiver T.J. Moore are all second-team selections, alongside Jacobs.

Sophomore defensive tackle Amare Adams is a third-team pick, and redshirt senior offensive lineman Collin Sadler received a fourth-team nod.

Clemson will open the 2026 season in the national spotlight when Dabo Swinney’s Tigers travel to face the LSU Tigers and new head coach Lane Kiffin in a marquee matchup at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La., on Sept. 5 (7:30 p.m., ABC).

Clemson’s 2026 schedule once again features a full seven-game home slate at Memorial Stadium, in addition to four road games against ACC opponents and the aforementioned road contest in the regular season opener at LSU.
