Multiple Players Could Represent Clemson on Preseason Team

CLEMSON — As I wrote earlier, the ACC will host its annual Football Kickoff on Wednesday at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown in Charlotte, N.C.

One of the tasks the media attending the event are asked to do is to vote on the preseason All-ACC team.

In year’s past, dating back to 2015, this team has been almost like an All-Clemson team, which makes since considering how much the Tigers have dominated the conference in the last decade. Clemson has won eight of the last 11 ACC Championships.

The Tigers were the preseason favorite to run away with the ACC in 2025 and in doing so, they had 11 players selected on the preseason team. However, neither happened.

How many Clemson players made the All-ACC Team last season?

Despite finishing tied for seventh in the league and having its worst season in 15 years, Clemson still had seven players, tied for fourth-most, earn recognition on the ACC’s annual squads. The Tigers have produced at least seven selections in each of the last 11 years and in 14 of the last 15 years.

Clemson tied for the conference lead with four first-team selections, including linebacker Sammy Brown, offensive tackle Blake Miller, cornerback Avieon Terrell and defensive tackle Peter Woods. The Tigers placed three players on the third team: defensive end Will Heldt, safety Ricardo Jones and wide receiver Antonio Williams.

How many All-ACC selections will the Tigers have on the preseason team?

Here is my prediction for Clemson players that I think will be on the preseason All-ACC squad:

Possible Preseason All-ACC Tigers

  1. Bryant Wesco, Jr., WR, Third Year
  2. Will Heldt, DE, Fourth Year
  3. Sammy Brown, LB, Third Year
  4. Ashton Hampton, CB, Third Year
  5. T.J. Moore, WR, Third Year
  6. Olsen Patt-Henry, TE, Fourth Year
  7. Nolan Hauser, PK, Third Year
  8. Jack Smith, P, Graduate
