Rivals updated its 2027 recruiting rankings on Monday, and there was some good news, along with some bad.
Safety commit Harrison Luke (North Oconee, GA) was on the receiving end of some good news, as he got a huge bump. Luke was granted his fourth star, and after not being in the Top 300 of the rankings, now comes in at No. 246 overall.
Luke is the son of offensive line coach Matt Luke. The 6-foot defensive back earned one of the Tigers’ opening offers last summer and then committed in September.
“It is just different,” Luke previously told TCI. “It is a special place. Just how they do things. It is just different. That is how I would describe it.”
Luke is one of two safeties currently committed, along with four-star Jarrell Chandler. Clemson is still awaiting a decision from four-star safety Seth Williams.
On the other side of the equation, four-star wide receiver commit Jamarin Simmons took a hit in the updated rankings. The talented wideout took a significant plunge and now sits at No. 130 overall. 247 ranks him No. 26 overall and as a five-star.
Clemson commit Jamarin Simmons (No. 130) has impressed with his route-running ability and ball skills at multiple off-season events. The Tallahassee native has a developed release package and consistently catches the ball away from his frame with excellent form. While he’ll need to continue improving his top-end speed as a 5-foot-10.5, 165-pounder, there is no denying the technical skill set.– Rivals
Simmons was on the receiving end of the Tigers’ first wide receiver offer last summer and committed just ahead of the official visit weekend in late May. He is one of three receivers committed in the class, joining three-star Julian Cromartie and four-star Trey Wimbley.
