CLEMSON – A Clemson legend is returning to the diamond.

On Wednesday, former Tiger softball infielder Maddie Moore announced she will be playing for the Knoxville Miracle, a new member of the Professional Softball League (PSL), set to play its inaugural season in 2027. 

With her signing, Moore filled the team’s second roster spot and became the 11th former Clemson player to join a professional squad either in the PSL or Athletes Unlimited Softball League.

She is the sixth Tiger to suit up in a PSL jersey, following several of her former teammates into a professional career.

“I’m just really excited to help further the love of softball, and share my passion with everybody,” Moore said. “And then also get to see the younger generation grow up with that same passion and continue playing with the heart and desire that we all have known and love. The fact that this sport is growing so much and so fast it’s awesome to see.”

In her four-year collegiate career, Moore became one of the most decorated softball players in program history, earning All-American and First Team All-ACC honors twice. She led the Tigers to their first ACC Tournament Championship in 2025 and was a finalist for USA Softball’s Collegiate Player of the Year Award.

The Loomis, Calif., native maintained a career .324 batting average with 40 home runs and 36 doubles. As a senior, she slashed .411 with 79 hits, including 32 for extra bases. She also led the Tigers with a .771 slugging percentage.

With Moore as its second baseman, Clemson hosted and won three NCAA Regional Tournaments, advancing to three Super Regionals in its first five opportunities as a program.

After her career came to a close at Clemson, Moore stayed close to McWhorter Stadium, frequently attending games as she worked in insurance sales, according to her social media. 

Now, she will have a chance to introduce herself to softball fans just a few hours away in Tennessee. 

“My younger self would think I am so cool right now,” Moore told reporters at her signing. “The only type of dream that (softball players) could have is us playing in the Olympics, now it’s so much more than that. These little girls don’t have to wait an extra four years to play in the Olympics, they get to play as soon as they get out of college.”

Per the PSL’s website, the Miracle’s schedule, as well as the rosters from other teams in the league, will be announced closer to 2027, when former collegiate stars will face off across the country. As of now, there are five other teams representing the organization.

“It’s just so fun to see that these little girls can live up to not only dreaming about college but now also dreaming about playing professionally,” Moore said.
