CLEMSON – Clemson head coach Brad Brownell revealed the Tigers will have only nine players available to play when they head to Italy on July 27.

Brownell says the squad will be without forward Dylan Faulkner and center Will Stephens. Faulkner suffered a toe injury and Stephens injured his ankle in practice last week. Brownell says both players will make the 10-day trip.

Brownell also updated the status of guard Ace Buckner. The sophomore, who will also make the trip, has been getting stronger with his shoulder and should be ready to go when the Tigers start practice in October. Brownell mentioned he has been doing some individual and team work in the meantime, with minimal contact.

The Tigers’ leader also added that center Carter Welling is coming along nicely after his March ACL tear and Foster is also involved in some light team and individual activity after his same injury last winter.

On the Italy trip, Clemson will play its first exhibition game July 29, against BC Silute. A live broadcast will will be available on 105.5 the ROAR with Brownell on the call.
