Aidan Knaak’s return was not the only good news the Clemson baseball team received on Monday.

Ethan Offing, who was selected by the Red Sox in the 18th round of the MLB Draft, also did not sign by Monday’s 5 p.m. deadline. Offing was one of just three of Boston’s 19 draft picks who did not come to terms, and he was one of two members of the Tigers’ 2027 recruiting class drafted.

The in-state talent, out of Dutch Fork, is listed as a shortstop but also played center field for his high school team. He hit .449 as a senior with five home runs and 27 runs driven in.

Baseball America ranks Offing No. 90 overall.

RHP Blake Bryant was the other incoming recruit selected in the draft, with the Diamondbacks taking him on Day 1 with the 31st pick overall in the Competitive Balance Round A. Bryant signed for $2.75M. He had been committed to the Tigers since December of 2022.
