One Clemson linebacker who has been dealing with an injury is working his way back.

CJ Kubah-Taylor, who was first seen sporting a yellow non-contact jersey in practice last Friday before switching to a green, limited-contact jersey by Monday, saw some time in Saturday’s first scrimmage of fall camp held at Memorial Stadium.

Dabo Swinney provided an update on the third-year player following the scrimmage.

“He is just getting back into practice,” the head coach said. “He was limited. He has been in green. He might have gotten 15 snaps today. They had him on a pitch count.”

With the Tigers needing to develop some depth behind Sammy Brown, Kobe McCloud and Jeremiah Alexander, getting Kubah-Taylor back for the scrimmage was a big step in the right direction.

“This was a big day for him because he has kind of been working back in practice,” Swinney added. “Some team-separate stuff. I think this was the first day they let him get some live reps.”

“He has been awesome. He is smart. He had a great summer. But the first day or so, he kind of tweaked something, and he has been working his way back, but good to see him back out there.”

Saturday’s scrimmage was the first of camp, with the second and final one scheduled for Thursday. After that, Clemson will ramp up preparations for the season-opener against LSU, set for September 5 in Baton Rouge.
