CLEMSON — Frank Howard Field has some company at Memorial Stadium.
Clemson Athletics, through Clemson Ventures, expanded its partnership with Prisma Health on Wednesday, as the healthcare organization’s will be visible across several Clemson athletic venues this season.
“We couldn’t be more proud to expand this robust partnership between Clemson and Prisma Health,” said Michael Drake, CEO of Clemson Ventures in a press release from the Clemson Athletic Department. “Prisma Health has made its mark on the Clemson community for many years and this commitment embodies the spirit of collaboration and innovation that we’ve come to expect. From the start, our teams have worked to bring real value to this proposal, and Prisma Health is going to show up in a big way on this campus.”
Prisma Health’s branding will debut on the playing surfaces at Memorial Stadium, Conklin Field and Jervey Gym this academic year. Its logo will be displayed at both 25-yard lines of Frank Howard Field during Clemson’s regular-season home football games this fall, as well as on the lacrosse field and volleyball court.
This marks the first time Clemson Football has had a corporate sponsor advertise on the playing surface at Memorial Stadium.
The agreement also includes Prisma Health branding on the outfield walls at Doug Kingsmore Stadium and McWhorter Stadium in the spring.
The partnership will also create additional opportunities for Clemson student-athletes. Prisma Health will directly engage with student-athletes who are aspiring healthcare professionals and/or have authentic ties to Prisma Health for mutually beneficial campaigns, experiences, and opportunities.
“For more than a decade, Prisma Health has been proud to partner with Clemson University to keep student-athletes healthy and performing at their best while advancing education, research and workforce development,” said Mark O’Halla, President and CEO of Prisma Health. “This expanded partnership builds on a shared legacy of excellence and innovation, creating opportunities for future healthcare professionals and student-athletes while delivering nationally recognized orthopedic and sports medicine care to the communities we serve.”
Clemson and Prisma Health will also collaborate on a content series highlighting Prisma Health’s academic, research and industry engagement across the University. Clemson and Prisma Health will collaborate to showcase the impact they’re making in the health and wellness areas.
Prisma has served as the Official Team Physicians of the Clemson Tigers for 12 years and as a strategic partner in academics. This relationship has included engagement with the Clemson University Biomedical Engineering Innovation Campus (CUBEInC), the Institute for Engaged Aging, and the Clemson University School of Health Research.
In recent years, the partnership has already helped more than double enrollment in Clemson’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and has expanded clinical placements for nursing students across Prisma Health Upstate, supported in part by the Prisma Health Nursing Scholars Endowment.
