This college football analyst offered a warning for Clemson players and fans ahead of Saturday’s long-awaited season opener against LSU at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.

Speaking on his show Crain & Cone, analyst Jake “JBOY” Crain highlighted the hostile environment of a game in Baton Rouge. Of course, LSU’s Tiger Stadium, also known as “Death Valley,” is widely regarded as one of the most deafening atmospheres and intimidating venues in college football.

Crain declared that the Clemson faithful are “walking into hell” on Saturday for the season-opening showdown against the Bayou Bengals.

“To the Clemson faithful, to the Clemson players – this is probably the hardest test you could have Week 1, in my opinion. It’s the hardest test right off the bat. Going down to Baton Rouge, which we know is nuts. I don’t care what time they play the game. You’re walking into hell,” Crain said.

“I don’t know if you’re going to play the freshman quarterback [Tait Reynolds] or [Christopher] Vizzina. I don’t really know if it matters that much. … The ground will be shaking, the ear holes will be whistling. LSU is fired up, and I think they’re pretty [dang] good. So if you’re Clemson, at the end of the day, you’re walking straight into it. And we’ll see how you react. But I know how that home crowd is gonna be. I know how that stadium is gonna be. This team, [they’re] going to be fired up, and I cannot wait for this one. This environment – we can talk about LSU going to Ole Miss in a couple weeks, this, that and the other – it don’t get better than this.”

ESPN’s College GameDay pregame show is traveling to Baton Rouge to host its 500th show for the marquee Week 1 game.

As you know, the game marks the highly anticipated LSU coaching debut of Lane Kiffin, who took over the program after Brian Kelly was fired.

Clemson enters the contest as a heavy underdog, with LSU a 10.5-point favorite at home over Dabo Swinney’s squad.
