Clemson has revealed who its captains will be on Saturday when the Tigers travel to Baton Rouge to kick off the season against No. 11 LSU.

Junior quarterback Chris Vizzina, who was just named the starter earlier this week, has been named one of the four captains. Vizzina will make his second career start against the Bayou Bengals after beating out freshman Tait Reynolds.

Offensive lineman Harris Sewell, cornerback Ashton Hampton and defensive end Will Heldt are the other three players who will serve as captains.

Sewell will be making his first career start at center, after spending his first three seasons playing at guard. This will mark his 18th career start.

Heldt is in his second season with the Tigers after transferring in from Purdue. The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder was an All-ACC selection last season after leading the team with 15.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.

Hampton is expected to lead a retooled secondary in his third season with the program. Hampton started 13 games last season, recording 47 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack and an interception.

Two different publications named Hampton a freshman All-American in 2024 after he registered 30 tackles, six pass breakups and two interceptions. One of those was a pick-six.

Clemson and LSU is one of the biggest games on the slate this weekend, with ESPN’s College GameDay set to be on hand. ABC will have the coverage, beginning at 730 p.m.
