An Alabama defensive lineman has set his next visit to Clemson.
Three-star DT Devin Bates (Cleburne County, AL) will be back on campus October 24 when the Tigers host Virginia Tech.
Current Visit Schedule
- Georgia Tech: September 12
- Mississippi State: October 3
- Oklahoma: October 17
- Clemson: October 24
- NC State: November 7
Bates is the nephew of former Clemson DT coach Todd Bates, who now serves in the same role on Brent Venables’ staff at Oklahoma.
He currently has around a dozen offers, with the most recent coming from Mississippi State last week.
Bates camped at Clemson back in June.
“We were in defensive line drills, and Coach Dabo came over there and pulled me out,” Bates recently told The Clemson Insider. “He said, ‘You are a class of ’28 right?’ He said, ‘ Your uncle coaches at Oklahoma, right?’ I said, ‘Yes, sir.’ Then he said, ‘You are going to be our fifth offer right here because you are the best D-tackle here.’ He kept coming up to me in one-on-ones, and I had a few more words with him.”
