Unless something drastically changes down the line, Clemson is going to miss on a top recruiting target.

2028 five-star DT Prince Che (Thomas County Central, GA) announced his top seven schools on Tuesday, with Texas A&M, Georgia, LSU, Texas, Florida, Miami and Oklahoma all making the cut. Clemson was obviously not on the list. Che was one of the first DTs to nab an offer from the Tigers back in June.

Anyone who has followed Che’s recruitment could have already foreseen this. Back in the summer, when Che announced his fall visit schedule, a trip to Memorial Stadium was not on the list.

Che’s last game-day visit to Clemson took place last November when the Tigers hosted Florida State. It was one of two stops the 6-foot-4, 305-pounder made in the Upstate last season.

As a sophomore, Che produced 48 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 11 quarterback hurries, four sacks and a pass breakup.

Che ranks No. 18 nationally in the 247 Composite Rankings and No. 3 among all defensive linemen in the class. He is also No. 2 in the state of Georgia.

As things currently stand, Clemson has just one other offer out to a defensive tackle, four-star Dawson Jacobs, who is the brother of current five-star Ohio State DE commit DJ Jacobs. The Tigers’ chances of landing the younger Jacobs appear to be rather slim at the moment.
