CLEMSON — After being downgraded to questionable in the ACC’s availability report on Friday night, Clemson quarterback Christopher Vizzina was with his teammates Saturday morning, as the Tigers gets set to play North Carolina at noon.

However, The Clemson Insider learned during warm ups that Vizzina was the only Clemson quarterback not to throw the football. He also favored his left arm. He left it by his side the whole time and never lifted it past his waste. He left the field early, while all the other quarterbacks were still out on the field.

Clemson had Vizzina listed as a game-time decision Saturday morning after previously being listed as questionable on Friday night.

The Clemson Insider learned Friday afternoon that Vizzina is suffering from a lower arm injury (elbow) and will not play in today’s game.

Obviously, head coach Dabo Swinney announced last Sunday that Tait Reynolds is going to start today’s game, but this news means Vizzina will not be available as the Tigers’ backup quarterback against UNC.

Swinney acknowledged earlier this week that Vizzina had some kind of left arm injury against Georgia Southern and that is why he did not return after going out following the third series of the game, but the Clemson coach downplayed the severity of the situation.

However, we have heard more specifics on the injury, but we are not going to release those details. TCI was told that Vizzina did not not practice this week, and the majority of the second-string snaps have gone to Trent Pearman.
