A current Clemson commit is off to a strong start to the season.

Through the first five games of his senior season, three-star edge JiQuan Rogers (Ramsay, AL) has totaled eight sacks, which is tied for third-most in the state of Alabama, along with 26 total tackles.

Last week, Rogers had seven total tackles with three strip-sacks, which also happened to coincide with his birthday.

Rogers committed to Clemson back in June, just after the big official visit weekend, choosing the Tigers over other schools that included Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Colorado and Florida. In total, the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder has close to two dozen offers.

As a junior, Rogers was credited with 36 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, seven sacks and a fumble returned for a touchdown.

He returns to action on Friday night when Ramsay hosts Pinson Valley.
