Following Clemson’s 24-10 victory over California Friday night, ESPN analyst sent a message to anyone listening about the Tigers, who have now won three straight games.

Clemson opened the season with a 41-point loss at LSU, and everyone immediately wrote the Tigers off, including Herbstreit and his friends at ESPN’s College GameDay. Everyone said Clemson was done. Everyone said Swinney’s was done.

But like former GameDay analyst Lee Corso used to say, Dabo Swinney and Clemson said, “no so fast my friend!”

After an ugly win over Georgia Southern in Week 2 and after trailing by 14-points in the second quarter against North Carolina in Week 3, Clemson woke up and is starting to look like a team that could contend in the ACC Championship race.

“Ole Dabo, ole Dabo. After that LSU loss people wanted to write the season off,” Herbstreit said Saturday morning. “Now you know he will be in the presser saying. ‘Ya’ll media boys wanted to shut us down.”

Herbstreit’s colleague, Pat McAfee said, “He said what if we win 11 straight.”

The Tigers (3-1, 2-0 ACC) have won three straight since then.
