Cam Cannarella’s first professional season was a very successful one.

The former Clemson star was named the Miami Marlins’ MiLB Player of the Year after his debut season with the organization.

Cannarella was selected by the Marlins in the Competitive Balance Round A (No. 43 overall) of the 2025 MLB Draft. He was the final pick prior to the second round. The Marlins agreed to a deal with Cannarella for $2,277,425 (slot value = $2,276,700).

In 98 games between High-A Beloit, Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Jacksonville, Cannarella totaled 15 homes runs, 22 doubles and one triple and 21 stolen bases, while drawing 60 walks against 79 strikeouts. He ranked in Triple-A’s 97th percentile with a 52.5% hard-hit rate over his final 45 games played. He played in all three spots in the outfield.

In his three-year Clemson career (2023-25), Cannarella – a three-time All-ACC selection and two-time All-American — hit .360 with 262 hits, 54 doubles, eight triples, 23 homers, 159 RBIs, 192 runs and 30 steals in 178 games. He also had a .551 slugging percentage and .453 on-base percentage.

In his final season as a Tiger, Cannarella hit .353 with five homers, two triples, 22 doubles, 52 RBIs, 62 runs, a .479 on-base percentage and six steals in 61 games. He ended the season on a 44-game on-base streak and 22-game hitting streak, as he hit .421 with four homers, a triple, 11 doubles, a .684 slugging percentage and .491 on-base percentage during that streak.
