Good news for Collegiate Athletics, at least for now.

The Protect College Sports Act passed through the U.S. Senate late Monday night. The Senate overwhelmingly voted to pass the Protect College Sports Act.

According to Yahoo Sports’, Ross Dellenger, the bill garnered 77 supporting votes in the 100-member chamber. This was an historic moment because the Protect College Sports Act is the first bill devoted entirely to Collegiate Athletics to pass through a Congress Floor.

For the bill to get formal approval, it will now have to pass through the House of Representatives, which currently is in recess.
