A former Clemson standout called out the Tigers’ offensive line during the team’s 41-13 loss to No. 4 Miami on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.
Former Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett took to X, publicly voicing his criticism of the Tigers’ offensive line performance with a series of posts:
Clemson’s offensive line struggled mightily against the Hurricanes, resulting in true freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds taking a beating. The line left him exposed throughout the game, forcing him to avoid relentless pressure and leaving him vulnerable to constant hits by Miami defenders. The Tigers allowed six sacks, while Clemson managed to rush for only 55 yards.
Leggett was one of the nation’s best tight ends during his Clemson career (2013-16) and the most decorated tight end in school history. A two-time Mackey Award finalist, Leggett finished his career with 112 receptions for 1,598 yards and 18 touchdowns over 51 games (38 starts). The two-time All-ACC selection and two-time All-American left Clemson as the school’s career leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns by a tight end. He was selected by the New York Jets in the fifth round (150th overall pick) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
The Tigers (3-2, 2-1 ACC) have an open date next weekend before returning to action on Saturday, Oct. 17, when they host Charleston Southern at Memorial Stadium.
