Swinney Gives Update on Injured RB

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney provided an update on an injured running back following the Tigers’ 41-13 loss to No. 4 Miami on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.

Senior backup running back Jarvis Green got shaken up in the fourth quarter, but was able to leave the field under his own power.

During his postgame press conference, Swinney gave an update on Green, saying he will be evaluated.

“We’ve got to check him out,” Swinney said. “His shoulder was bothering him, so we’ll see where we are with all that.”

Green rushed for 14 yards on three carries in the contest. The 5-foot-9, 205-pounder entered the game with 18 carries for 74 yards on the season.

Last year, Green medically redshirted after missing the season after sustaining a foot injury in fall camp. The Irmo, S.C., native came into the 2026 season credited with 12 carries for 57 yards and two receptions for 35 yards with a touchdown in 37 career offensive snaps over 11 games. He also recorded one 36-yard kickoff return in 2023.

Green’s first career reception came in the 2024 College Football Playoff game at Texas, and his first career touchdown came on a 25-yard catch later in that contest. He recorded more than 6,000 career all-purpose yards and 91 total touchdowns at state powerhouse Dutch Fork before signing with Clemson.

The Tigers (3-2, 2-1 ACC) have an open date next weekend before returning to action on Saturday, Oct. 17, when they host Charleston Southern at Memorial Stadium.
