TCI’s Previews and Predictions Virginia Tech at Clemson

CLEMSON — The Clemson Insider’s crew of Will Vandervort, Ashby Mixon and Jason Priester breakdown Saturday’s Virginia Tech at Clemson game at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C.

The TCI crew give their keys to a Clemson victory, predictions and more. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. (ESPN).

Clemson has a 24-12-1 lead in its all-time series with Virginia Tech. Clemson’s 23-3 victory in Blacksburg, Va., in October of 2011 ended a five-game Virginia Tech winning streak in the series, and Clemson is now in the midst of its own seven-game winning streak against the Hokies.

The Tigers’ seven consecutive wins against Virginia Tech include a pair of ACC Championship Games, one in 2011 and one in 2016. The Tigers defeated Virginia Tech twice in 2011, 23-3 in Blacksburg and 38-10 in the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte. It remains the only time Clemson has beaten the same school twice in the same year.

During the Tigers’ seven-game win streak against Virginia Tech, the two teams have met just once in Death Valley, and that came back in 2012. Clemson beat the Hokies in 2011, 2017, 2020 and 2024 in Blacksburg.
