CLEMSON — An ACC head coach is no longer with his school.

It was announced on Saturday that NC State head coach Dave Doeren has been relieved of his duties, “effective immediately.”

Running back’s coach and special teams coordinator Todd Goebbel will serve as interim head coach for the rest of the season. A national search “will begin immediately,” according to a statement from the school.

Doeren’s dismissal comes after the Woflpack lost to Stanford 31-28 on Friday night in California. He was in his 14th season as head coach in Raleigh.

In his 13 seasons with the Wolfpack, Doeren had 10 winning seasons and was invited to 11 bowl games. Doeren was 98-74 in his career at NC State. He was 52-58 in ACC play.

Doeren is 121-78 overall as a head coach.
