Clemson Takes Lead Over Hokies

CLEMSON – After two and a half quarters without, quarterback Tait Reynolds ran 16 yards into the back of Memorial Stadium’s west end zone for a touchdown and a 13-10 lead over Virginia Tech.

The score marked Reynolds’ first touchdown run of his collegiate career and the second total touchdown this season. It capped off a six-play drive that spanned 65 yards and just over two minutes.

The drive started on Clemson’s own 35-yard line after a punt return from Bryant Wesco Jr. was called back due to a penalty.

Reynolds then completed his longest pass of the night to wide receiver T.J. Moore for 22 yards and then gained 11 yards of his own from a run. After wide receiver Jarvis Green gained one yard, Reynolds connected with senior Tyler Brown for an 11-yard pass to put Clemson deep in Hokie territory.

On Virginia Tech’s 15 yard line, Reynolds ran it in for the touchdown. It was the first quarterback touchdown run from a Clemson quarterback since Cade Klubnik’s rushing score against South Carolina last November.

It was the longest drive of the night by the Tigers by six yards. It was also their first lead of the night after going down as much as a touchdown.
