After suffering a heartbreaking defeat to Virginia Tech last weekend, Clemson rebounded on Saturday night with a 34-26 win over Florida State in Tallahassee.
The Tigers controlled the contest much of the night, at one point taking a 29-10 lead early in the fourth quarter. Clemson would then have to hold off a furious rally by the Seminoles, which included a 79-yard run by Tait Reynolds with about a minute left to seal the deal.
Several of Clemson’s current commits were on hand a week ago when the Hokies pulled off a late comeback win, and TCI reached out to several to get their reactions to the win over FSU.
Four-star safety Jarrell Chandler:
“I thought it was a great win last night. The defense had an outstanding performance with a lot of huge turnovers in the secondary. Coach Allen has done a really good job this year, and I was happy for everyone to get to see what I already knew about Clemson. It’s special!”
Three-star DT Jaden Wuerth:
“Great win in a tough environment, and I just see a bunch of improvement on both sides of the ball.”
Four-star QB Trace Hawkins (2028):
Three-star TE Wright Martin (2028)
“Loved it! Two tight end touchdowns! And a big win!
“We played great last night. It was a good team win that was needed.”
Four-star RB Gary Walker:
“A great team win!”
Three-star CB Christian “PJ” Chancellor:
“Was a pretty good game! Obviously there’s gonna be mistakes, but I felt like the defense played very well with getting turnovers.”
Newest PK commit Noah Walker:
“I thought it was a great win for the program, and it was exciting to watch the team compete. Definitely looking forward to being a part of it!”
