Newest Commit Says Clemson ‘Always Felt Like Home’

Clemson has found its kicker of the future.

In-state prospect Noah Hardy (Fort Mill) announced a commitment to the Tigers on Saturday, becoming the second specialist to join the 2027 class.

“Clemson always felt like home,” Hardy told The Clemson Insider. “The relationships I’ve built with the coaches and the family atmosphere made it an easy decision.”

Hardy’s announcement came just days after he announced his offer, but he actually committed on the spot upon receiving the offer, during a call with head coach Dabo Swinney.

“I committed on the spot when coach Swinney offered me over the phone and announced it publicly on Saturday,” Hardy added. “Coach Swinney was pumped to have me join the Clemson family.”

Hardy is considered one of the better placekickers in the class. Last season, he connected on 13 field goals, with a long of 54 yards. He also recorded 41 touchbacks and recently earned a spot on the South Carolina roster for the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

With the Tigers already holding a verbal pledge from one of the top punters in the class, Brandin Galloway, the program now has two of the better specialists in the country.

While this might have seemed like something that came together rather quickly, Clemson has been quietly courting Hardy for quite some time. In fact, the relationship between the two parties goes back about a full year, with assistant Ryan Allen leading the charge. Hardy then came and worked out at camp in June.

App State, Coastal Carolina, Charlotte, Liberty and Georgia State were some of the other schools Hardy was considering. However, when the Tigers offered him a full-ride, he knew exactly what he wanted to do.

“I first got in contact with Coach Allen last October and attended camp in June,” Hardy said. “I stayed in touch with the coaches throughout the season, and Coach Swinney eventually called me and offered.”

Hardy plans to finish his senior season in high school and enroll at Clemson next summer. Once he arrives on campus, he is very much looking forward to learning from Nolan Hauser, who is becoming one of the better placekickers in program history.

“Nolan is a great kicker, and I’m excited to learn from him,” Hardy said. “I’m looking forward to competing and getting to work.”
