One of Clemson’s top two tight end targets is already planning his next trip to the Upstate.

Three-star Wright Martin (Christ Presbyterian, TN) tells The Clemson Insider that he is set to be on hand for the Tigers’ home opener against Georgia Southern on September 12. Martin says he’s also considering visiting for the home matchup against Miami on October 3.

Martin first visited for the Furman game last season before returning last month to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp.

On July 12, due in large part to that workout, Martin became the first tight end in the 2028 class to secure an offer from the Tigers.

“I had camped at eight places this summer, and that was by far my best camp from just a competing standpoint,” Martin recently told TCI. “I think I caught every single ball. Coach Swinney came up to me after, and he is like, ‘Who is this kid? Where are you from?’ He said, ‘You really impressed us.’ But they like to play slow, which I respect that.

“From there, I got coach Rich’s number, and we started getting in contact on June 15 and just kept building a relationship. I knew that I was kind of high on their board. Coach Rich would tell me how I did at camp just really blew out everyone’s thoughts and made a really good first impression on coach Swinney.”

The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder currently has more than a dozen offers, including Georgia, Ohio State, SMU, Arkansas, Stanford, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

The Rivals Industry Rankings slot Martin as the 20th-best tight end in the class.
