Clemson-Miami Matchup Setting Up to Be Big Recruiting Day

Clemson’s home matchup with Miami is setting up to be a big one in more ways than one.

Not only could that game end up having major implications on how things play out in the ACC standings, but it is also shaping up to be a big recruiting event for the Tigers, as we have a new name to add to the guest list for that contest.

Just days after including Clemson among his three finalists, four-star offensive line target Sam Walker (Central, GA) tells The Clemson Insider he is scheduled to be on hand for the matchup scheduled for October 3. South Carolina and Georgia Tech represent his other two finalists, and Walker is also planning to be at Bobby Dodd on September 12 when the Yellow Jackets host Tennessee.

Walker picked up an offer in the middle of June after working out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp earlier in the month. He was also on hand for the Florida State game last season. This next visit will mark his fourth to Clemson.

“It is truly a blessing. They don’t just offer anybody,” Walker recently told TCI. “They really dig deep and take their time picking the right guys and just being sure of what they want.”

Rivals ranks the 6-foot-5, 320-pound prospect No. 53 overall, No. 4 among all interior linemen in the 2028 class and No. 8 in the state of Georgia.

Other recruiting targets scheduled to be on hand for that game include four-star safety Giovanni Tuggle, four-star corner Kahmaree Crumity and three-star tight end Wright Martin.

Outside of the regular season finale against the rival Gamecocks, the game against Miami is the biggest on the home slate this season, so it should come as no surprise that staff is looking to have a number of high-profile recruiting targets in attendance.
