A week after being let go by one NFL team, a former Clemson cornerback has been picked up by another.

Jeadyn Lukus has signed with the Cleveland Browns, they announced on Aug. 7.

The signing comes after Lukus had a “successful workout” with team, per NFL reporter Arye Pulli.

Lukus initially signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Tennessee Titans after going unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft. He was later waived by Tennessee on Aug. 1.

The No. 1 player in South Carolina for the 2022 recruiting class, and a former five-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, Lukus battled injuries to record 61 tackles (2.5 for loss), 11 pass breakups and two interceptions over 43 games (15 starts) during his Clemson career from 2022-25.

While Lukus’ athleticism was never in question in his Clemson career, he still never quite found consistent success as a member of the Tigers’ secondary. The former top-30 national recruit showed early promise, catching his first career interception in the 2022 ACC Championship win over North Carolina, and notching three pass breakups in 2023. By the start of the 2024 season, he became a regular starter.

However, after early struggles, Lukus lost his starting job by the end of the season, and only made one start in 2025, after dealing with nagging injuries and missing most of fall camp. After playing a combined 721 snaps his sophomore and junior seasons, he only logged 197 in 2025. 

After sporting No. 10 at Clemson, Lukus will wear No. 38 with Cleveland, where he joins former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson on the team’s roster.
