One of Clemson’s top offensive line targets has come off the board one day after making his return to Death Valley.
Four-star Sam Walker (Central, GA) has committed to Georgia Tech, choosing the Yellow Jackets over his other two finalists, Clemson and South Carolina. Georgia had also started to push in recent weeks.
Walker’s commitment to Georgia Tech comes one day after he visited Clemson for the Tigers’ loss to Miami.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder has visited multiple times in the past, including back in June when he worked out at camp. About two weeks later, he officially received an offer from Clemson. Walker also visited for a game last season.
“For Clemson, they are definitely up there for sure,” Walker recently told TCI. “Because coach Luke, he is always talking to me, always in contact. And Clemson in general, it is just a great place to be. When I was up there, it felt like home. For real.”
Rivals ranks the blue-chip talent No. 54 overall and as the fourth-best interior lineman in the class. He also ranks No. 8 in the state of Georgia.
