Florida State sits at 3-5 overall and 1-4 in ACC play following last Saturday’s 36-24 home loss to Clemson, which marked the Seminoles’ third straight defeat.
Following the loss to Clemson, head coach Mike Norvell was fired, with Rick Stockstill taking over as interim head coach.
As if things could get any worse for the Noles, FSU has suffered another devastating blow, as star wide receiver Duce Robinson will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL against Clemson.
Prior to suffering the injury, Robinson caught two passes for 31 yards against the Tigers. The 6-foot-6, 230-pound senior leads FSU in receptions (24), receiving yards (438) and touchdown receptions (four).
Losing a star playmaker to a torn ACL is incredibly tough, especially given how vital he has been to the offense this season and last season.
In his first season at Florida State last year, Robinson led FSU with 56 catches for 1,081 yards and six touchdowns and was a Biletnikoff Award Semifinalist. Before transferring to FSU, he played his first two college seasons at Southern Cal, catching 39 passes for 747 yards and seven touchdowns during his tenure with Trojans.
FSU hits the road to face Boston College next on Saturday, needing three wins in the final four regular season games just to reach bowl eligibility.
