Two More Recruits Scratched from Clemson Official Visit Weekend

With Jamarin Simmons committing to Clemson last week, the Tigers now have two players at the position on board in the 2027 class.

One more is expected to be taken, and three-star Julian Cromartie (College Park, TX) is trending towards Clemson. TCI already reported that three-star wideout Taurean Rawlins has been scratched from the second official visit gathering June 12-14. We can now report that two more receivers expected to be on hand for the big official gathering this weekend will, in fact, not attend.

Four-star Lawrence Britt is now scheduled to be at Arkansas. Britt picked up an offer just ahead of the Elite Retreat in March and quickly announced plans to be back for an official visit this weekend. Missouri, Florida and Texas Tech are also scheduled to get officials.

Four-star Tae Walden will now be at Auburn this weekend. Walden also attended the Elite Retreat, leaving with an offer in hand. Missouri, Georgia, Oregon and Florida State are set to get his other officials.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect plays both ways for his high school team (Collierville, TN), and as a junior, he earned all-region honors as both a receiver and a cornerback. He was also named his region’s Defensive Player of the Year. He was also a first-team punt returner.

That leaves Cromartie as the only uncommitted wide receiver with an offer from Clemson set to give the Tigers an official. He will be on campus this weekend.

Julian is the son of former NFL All-Pro cornerback Antonio Cromartie, who played at Florida State from 2003-05 before going on to be selected by the San Diego Chargers in the first round (19th overall pick) of the 2006 NFL Draft.

Julian transferred to College Park in Texas before his junior season after spending his first two years at Mater Dei, San Diego.
