Clemson Transfer Staying Home to Continue Career

A former Clemson hurler is staying home to continue his college baseball career.

After entering the transfer portal, which opened Monday, left-handed pitcher Talan Bell announced Friday he will be transferring to UCF.

Bell – a Florida native — will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Bell was eased back into action during the 2025 season as he worked his way back from an injury. He made eight starts and finished 0-2 with an ERA of 5.56 in 22.2 innings pitched. He struck out 22 and walked 15.

However, the southpaw was expected to be a key piece in the Tigers’ weekend rotation this season, but that never materialized. After five starts, he was relegated to the bullpen. In 13 appearances, his ERA was 7.82. He struck out 23 and walked 13 in 25.1 innings pitched.

Bell also played some in the outfield this season, going 2-for-10 at the plate with one home run and one run driven in.

He was a big-time prospect coming out of Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Fla., with Perfect Game ranking him No. 33 overall and No. 5 among all left-handed pitchers.

Along with Bell, former Clemson slugger Collin Priest will also continue his career at UCF after entering the transfer portal.
