While one Clemson commit received a sizable bump in the latest update to the 247 recruiting rankings, several more got dinged.
As previously reported, wideout Jamarin Simmons received his fifth star in the updated rankings. Simmons moved up 35 spots to No. 26 overall. He is now pegged as the fifth-best receiver in the 2027 class.
Quarterback commit Kharim Hughley, who 247 only ranks as a three-star, is now ranked as the No. 24 signal caller in the class, moving up five spots. Both Rivals and ESPN rank Hughley as a four-star, with Rivals slotting him No. 12 among all players at his position and ESPN ranking him No. 5.
Three-star safety Harrison Luke is now ranked as the 67th best player at his position, moving up nine spots.
OL commit JJ Brown was upgraded to a four-star, despite dropping two spots to No. 37 among all tackles in the class.
Four-star DE Santana Harvey took the biggest hit, dropping an eye-popping 80 spots down to No. 214 overall. He fell 10 spots down to No. 25 among all defensive linemen in the class. Harvey took to social media to voice his displeasure with his updated ranking.
“Never will I ever need a ranking to tell me how good I am or predict my future,” Harvey posted to X.
Hard to fathom a player falling that far without a down of football having been played since the last update. And Harvey wasn’t the only one.
Four-star LB Bryce Kish also took a fairly big hit, falling 70 spots to No. 237 overall. He dropped six spots in the LB rankings, down to No. 18.
Three-star LB Max Brown was also dinged pretty good, falling to No. 86 among all LBs in the class. He fell 50 spots.
Four-star wideout Trey Wimbley fell seven places, down to No. 48 among all receivers in the class.
Four-star OL Carter Jones dropped four places to No. 20 among all interior linemen.
Three-star OL Elijah Morrison fell five spots to No. 28 among the interior linemen.
Three-star Jaden Wuerth remains criminally underrated. He’s ranked just 83rd among all DL in the class. He fell six spots.
Current four-star LB target Sean Fox was one of the biggest risers, moving up 82 places to No. 153 overall. He is now the 10th highest-ranked LB in the class, a move up of eight places.
Clemson’s 22-member class currently ranks No. 7 nationally after the latest update.
