Highly-Rated Lineman Includes Clemson In Final 3

One of the top offensive linemen in the 2028 recruiting class has trimmed his list of schools.

Four-star Sam Walker (Central, GA) named his three finalists on Sunday, including Clemson, South Carolina and Georgia Tech.

Walker was last in Clemson the first week of June when he worked out at Dabo Swinney’s high school. About two weeks later, he officially held an offer from the Tigers. It was his third time visiting.

“It is truly a blessing. They don’t just offer anybody,” Walker recently told TCI. “They really dig deep and take their time picking the right guys and just being sure of what they want.”

The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder has more than 20 offers in total, including Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Miami, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

Rivals ranks Walker No. 53 overall, No. 4 among all interior linemen in the class and No. 8 in the state of Georgia.

“For Clemson, they are definitely up there for sure,” Walker said. “Because coach Luke, he is always talking to me, always in contact. And Clemson in general, it is just a great place to be. When I was up there, it felt like home. For real.”

After announcing his commitment on Thursday and becoming the first verbal pledge of the 2028 class for Clemson, four-star QB Trace Hawkins has already started the recruiting efforts with Walker.
