CLEMSON — Through a Freedom of Information Act request, The Clemson Insider was able to obtain the details from Vic Burley’s guilty plea Wednesday morning at the Clemson University Municipal Court.

Judge Lindsey Simmons granted Clemson’s defensive tackle a Conditional Discharge for his Public Disorderly Conduct charge from the the morning of August 22, 2026.

Burley appeared before Judge Simmons in Clemson University’s Municipal Court and pled guilty to Public Disorderly Conduct under the South Carolina Conditional Discharge Statute. Conditional Discharge is a program available to first-time offenders with minor charges, including Public Disorderly Conduct. 

The graduate senior was sentenced to six months of court supervision. Terms of supervision include completion of two online court education programs, completion of the Clemson University Police Department’s in-person court education program, 24 hours of community service (cannot be football related), $150 statutory participation fee, random drug testing at the discretion of the Court, and remaining on good behavior/incurring no other criminal charges during the period of supervision.

If all requirements have been met at the conclusion of the six-month period, the charge is dismissed and expunged from the Defendant’s criminal history. Any violation of the terms of conditional discharge supervision may result in a fine of up to $257.50 and/or 30 days imprisonment.

On Saturday, Aug. 22, Burley was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after he was allegedly found asleep at 2:15 a.m., by officers in his truck with the vehicle running.

Burley issued a public apology to the Clemson Family via social media on Wednesday afternoon.
